Brett and I have been back from our babymoon for a couple days now and I am still on a vacation high. We have had the opportunity to take a lot of special trips together, but I know this one will always rank high on my list of best vacations. This babymoon couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m almost to the halfway point in my pregnancy and I’ve come home feeling so motivated to get ready for baby G! Today I’m doing things a little differently and I’ve asked Brett to contribute to the post. Today we’re sharing 10 reasons why taking a babymoon is a good idea.
Up until this point I haven’t done much to prepare for baby. As I mentioned above, I’ve come home feeling motivated to get our house and lives ready though. I’m starting to make a list of everything we need to do do before December. It’s a little overwhelming, but I know we have the time.
This may make me sound a little crazy, but I’ve been feeling less than confident with my body. Don’t get me wrong, I’m incredibly grateful we’re pregnant, but I wasn’t prepared for things to start changing so quickly. I swear my butt and thighs, areas I’ve always been self conscious of, have been growing much more quickly than my belly. I guess it took being around other pregnant women to realize that this is all completely normal. I’m feeling much more comfortable with all the changes, I still don’t want anyone touching my belly though!
I’ll aways cherish the time Brett and I have had together and the trips we’ve been able to take. A few highlights have been getting engaged in Jamaica, our honeymoon in the Bahamas and road tripping across the Pacific Northwest. It’s so strange to think that we only have one more planned trip before we become a family of three. I know we’ll continue to take trips just the two of us, but they won’t be as often obviously. Even now we’re always asking my parents for updates on Riggins so I can only imagine what it will be like once there’s a baby involved.
Having a baby is stressful, especially when you had trouble getting pregnant as we did. It’s nice to get away and not worry about these things.
It’s important to have one last trip together as a couple. We have always loved visiting new islands in the Caribbean. I’m glad we were able to explore Bermuda before the baby comes.
I want our baby to have a love for traveling. The baby had their first international trip, no passport required!
